Logically, I know this is not a thing, but the massive fangirl in me is squealing over this. Silly? Most certainly. Do I care about being silly? Not even remotely.
Christa Meola is my absolute idol – she’s the photographer I want to be when I grow up. She represents my ideal esthetic for the genre – classy, playful while still intense, and wildly intuitive. There’s a deep lushness to her entire body of work that speaks loud and clear to me. I want very much to emulate that in my own work. I think it’s mostly that she ‘gets’ the base element that is “sensuality”; the fact that it’s both chemically and psychologically different for every woman. She works really hard to make outstanding experiences for her clients, and the payoff is obvious. She regularly proves that one good capture can change someone’s entire outlook, turning what might have started as hesitant and awkward into a stunning revelation of beauty.
I think it’s time for me to start considering how to plan my life towards a real goal, one i can sink my teeth into.
